About Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

  Job Description

  In this position you will work as part of the FMS Sustaining Team. They are responsible for all FMS monitoring and controls equipment on site . An FMS system owner has Safety as a value and ensures that all Equipment is in a safe state and maintenance is carried out as safely as possible, A Quality lens is essential , ensuring any quality issues on your system are tracked and closed to ensure they don't reoccur . You will be part of a team who you will work with and learn from.

  Develops industrial instrumentation and automation systems required for maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and programming of existing analytical instrumentation for labs, manufacturing, and facilities systems.

  Designs and develops new control systems and tests and maintains and modifies existing systems.

  Analyzes data and presents findings in written reports and provides advice and consultancy support.

  Manages projects within cost and time constrained environments and manages day-to-day operations associated with instrumentation and controls.

  Works collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff and liaisons with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.

  Understands and ensures compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.

  Assists in purchasing equipment, writing computer software and test procedures, and development of new business proposals.

  Prepares engineering assessments and provides technical operations direction on construction designs.

  Conducts troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis, develops engineering solutions to address and rectify issues, and manages long-term equipment improvement initiatives.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in Instrument/Controls Engineering/Mechatronics/ Programming or equivalent from an accredited university with emphasis on Instrumentation or Controls is required.

  Excellent Knowledge of computer software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Projects is required.

  Ability to communicate tactical concepts across a wide range of employees; engineering peers to operational technicians to management.

  Understanding Stakeholders needs and managing those relationships. Must have excellent problem solving skills and demonstrate application of structured problem solving methods and tools.

  Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team.

  Preferred Requirements

  Understanding of the Global Business context in which Intel Operates , knowing what your customer needs and communicating well with them .

  Ability to make commitments and Prioritise to ensure execution of tasks, Provide projects and sustaining controls engineering support at our facilities.

  Act as one of Intel's System Owner of the site's PLC controls system.

  Experience of Siemens and ALLEN Bradley Control Logix hardware and programming a distinct advantage .

  Sustaining engineering responsibilities: Modeling the controls system and track changes; Troubleshooting the controls system problems ; Systematic problem solving; Delivering operational efficiency, maintenance, testing and commissioning solutions; driving capital budgets for system upgrades, providing technical leadership to IFM and contractors.

  Work Closely with the Sustaining Facilities controls Engineers. Understand and model the operational excellence of the team.
