Position Description: Ryerson has an opportunity for an Outside Sales Representative position. As an Outside Sales Representative you are responsible for recognizing and cultivating potential sales leads, traveling to meet with prospective and existing customers, and forming lasting beneficial relationships. Will also drive profitable growth by expanding Ryerson's customer base and increasing sales within the North Multi-Market based in Coon Rapids, MN. The future will be made from metal. Roles and Responsibilities: * Engineering supply chains based on current opportunities with a new or existing customer base * Managing the relationship between the company and customers by establishing and cultivating strategic relationships with key individuals within territory accounts * Increasing the awareness of products, service offerings, and representing the brand to existing and prospective customers * Growing transactional business by creating new opportunities within existing customers and developing new customers * Developing a clear understanding of business practices including pricing, forecasting, terms and conditions, distribution and code of ethics * Maintaining detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems * Planning and carrying out sales and marketing activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix, and time frames * Communicating market trends and analyses with General Managers and Sales Engineer * All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business or sales related field highly preferred * 3 - 5 years of metals fabrication processes experience or alternative hands-on experience in metal fabrication * Expertise in quality processes surrounding the manufacturing process * Experience in Salesforce and SAP a plus * Strong interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills * Demonstrated unique and creative approach to customer development and territory growth strategies; ability to thinking spontaneously and outside of the box * Effective communication, prospecting and negotiation skills with an awareness and aptitude for value-added selling * Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier.
