Responsibilities

To ensure all job duties are conducted in a safe and professional manner at all times. The Operator must follow the chain of command and report directly to the Production Supervisor (Extrusion) for all aspects of their job functions. Operator is directly responsible for the safety, quality, output, and housekeeping for his/her assigned lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties as assigned)

MANUFACTURING;

Duties include line setup, scrap control, quality checks, new hire training, and any other duties set forth by the Shift Supervisor. Complete all required paperwork. Inform supervisor immediately of all maintenance issues prior to request being filled out as well as quality, resin, housekeeping, safety, or production issues.

OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS;

Verbally communicate with co-workers on problems and activities.

HEALTH AND SAFETY;

Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Berry’s guidelines. Visually inspects work environment for hazards, equipment safeguards, employees’ safety, and adherence to policies. Maintain compliance with OSHA, company, and housekeeping rules.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent or previous manufacturing experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying and division. Accurately read a tape measure
