LinQuest is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team at Eglin AFB in Florida. An active Secret clearance is required.
The Manufacturing Engineering SME provides direction and support to the engineering and manufacturing management team. The management team implements this direction and support to the Engineering and Manufacturing department to design, process, project, develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services, while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities. The SME position is responsible for contributing to the state of the engineering and manufacturing division to include employee retention, technical acumen, equipment utilization, manufacturing standard adherence, and product delivery. The goal of the Manufacturing Engineering SME is to maintain a high level of excellence in all applicable areas of business, foster an environment of continuous improvement, and strive to be the gold standard of manufacturing in the immediate industry.
Responsibilities:
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
Plan and establish engineering schedule and follows up performance against estimates.
Identify, recommend and implement new policies and procedures as directed.
Initiate cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Ensure manufacturing processes, policies, procedures, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
Serve as the subject matter expert on manufacturing operations for programs providing input on capability and scheduling.
Analyze manufacturing equipment needs based on specific products and production volume.
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
Provide input to associate managers on labor utilization across programs/projects.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
BS in Engineering.
15+ years of engineering experience.
10+ years supervisory/managerial experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of Engineering software applications and their use in the products and services provided by the line of business.
Strong knowledge of Engineering Principles applicable to products and services provided by the line of business.
Strong knowledge of Manufacturing methods and principles pertinent to the products and services provided by the line of business.
Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
An active Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
MS in Engineering.
20+ years of engineering experience.
Ability to work in an agile development environment.
Effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
