Position Summary/Description:
The Executive Assistant provides complex administrative support to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications ( AVC ) and the Director of Business Operations and units across the University Communications department. The Executive Assistant performs a variety of detailed-oriented administrative and business operations tasks. The Executive Assistant will represent the AVC , the department, and the University in a positive way. The Executive Assistant will help develop and ensure that key human resources and business operations workflows continue according to office guidelines, independently answering internal and external inquiries using the knowledge and critical thinking necessary to make sound judgments on routine and urgent matters. The Executive Assistant handles details of a highly confidential and critical nature and must have a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines, screen and prioritize communications and organize and maintain administrative processes. It will be important for this position to develop a strong working knowledge of all aspects of University Communications.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
