  Job Description:

  Student Accessibility Services at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for an Exam Accommodations Coordinator, which will be classified as a Student Services Coordinator III. Reporting through the Dean of Students Office in the Division of Student Affairs, Student Accessibility Services (SAS) coordinates reasonable accommodations for ISU students with documented disabilities and promotes access and student success at the University.

  Duties/Responsibilities:

  Administration and Communication

  Manages a highly organized system for all parts of the exam referral process involving but not limited to, exam referral, entering exams, scheduling pending exams, approving exam times, printing and uploading completed exams referral forms, etc.

  Make recommendations to the Assistant Director to implement updated processes for improving Exam Accommodations Center(EAC) procedures utilizing their expertise in exam accommodations.

  Independently determines best course of action for elevated issues and concerns raised by students and faculty.

  Functions as the go to resource for elevated faculty concerns related to exam accommodations for accessibility coordinators and campus partners.

  Leads projects such as final exam week coordination and determining the implementation of new systems.

  Manage, coordinate, and ensure various services/processes are in place to deliver reasonable accommodations with various campus partners such as CELT, facilities, and the registrar.

  Utilize and troubleshoot the EAC information management software (Accommodate).

  Maintain accurate and timely records utilizing Accommodate.

  Develop and maintain use of assessment tools to assist Director and Assistant Director in data-driven reporting and decision making.

  Assist and implement changes in processes resulting from assessment learning outcomes.

  Student Supervision

  Provides direct supervision and support to student employees on exam center daily operations.

  Leads efforts to implement Career Readiness Competencies into student worker duties and responsibilities.

  Manages recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new student employees.

  Trains and leads student employees through the framework of the Career Readiness Competencies.

  Delegates daily tasks to student employees to ensure timely access for students receiving exam accommodations.

  Provides constructive feedback to student employees regarding performance and areas for improvement.

  Holds bi-weekly check-ins with students to review trends and/or concerns within the exam accommodations center.

  Train students through basic level assistive technology needs supported through accommodations: an overview of reader software, dictation software, etc.

  Student Support and Eligibility Determination

  Meet with students, parents, and others to complete "Welcome Meetings" providing information regarding eligibility and services.

  Work collaboratively with students to problem solve accommodation concerns.

  Guide students through basic level assistive technology needs supported through accommodations: textbook requests, overview of reader software, etc.

  Review medical documentation, school records (IEP and 504), and other evidence to determine eligibility for services.

  Meet with students to review accommodation requests and review students responsibilities and rights under the American Disabilities Act.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
