Job Description Summary
As a European Events Manager, you will work for one of BDs three segments in their Marketing Services department, reporting directly to the EMEA Marketing Services Manager (MSM). In this role you will manage a small team, leading multiple international events, and projects across Europe.
The role involves a fair amount of European travel (approx 25%), with some evening and weekend work required and also regular travel to the studio based in Crawley.

Our vision for BD Interventional at BD
BD Interventional (BDI) focus on leading innovation and life-enhancing devices in the field of surgical, endovascular, urological and critical care interventions aiming at advancing the treatment of high burden diseases and enabling surgical and interventional procedures.
Main responsibilities will include:
Planning, delivering, and supporting medium to large scale events, providing strong project management skills and considerable event expertise. Leading a small events team you will drive key events alongside multiple stakeholders, within the business, throughout the process. Handling trade show stands, workshops and summits in the UK and Europe which includes hotels and venues, and multiple relevant ad hoc supplier management. You will coordinate and lead online events, including webinars from start to finish.
Work with the Marketing Services Manager (MSM) to deliver multiple projects across the business, throughout the fiscal year(s)Event team managing; Supervising and coaching the events teamAssist the MSM in assessing and setting future objectives in the events teams appraisalsSupervise external suppliers and event staffCommunicate and collaborate professionally and effectively with internal stakeholdersResponsible to make sure all event/s are completed efficiently, on time, and on budgetBudget management & reportingEnsure alignment alongside the events team on BD processes, including compliance and finance requirements
Further responsibilities include:
Coordinate shipping requests for assigned events - some heavy lifting requiredLiaison with stakeholders, suppliers and congresses, pre-event planning and preparation of meeting venuesCoordination and negotiation of contracts, rates, T&CsCompiling ad-hoc reports, or documents - as required by the MSM
About you
The ideal candidate should have proven experience of running events from implementation through to completion, working in a similar, dynamic role. Must be highly organised, show dedication and be a great teammate.
To be successful in this position you will need high level attention to detail, with an organised and methodical approach. You need to be a proficient administrator, fast and efficient, with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure target times are met.
Other key skills and experience are:
Digital event management experience preferable, but not essentialAbility to build strong, long-lasting business relationshipsCan handle pressure and willing to show dedicationProactive forward thinker that can multitaskThe highest regard towards customer service at all levelsBachelor's degree preferable, but not crucial
