Become an Ethics Investigator, Senior Advisor at Edison International (EIX)! In this role, you will be responsible for independently conducting a broad spectrum of concurrent complex investigations including employee misconduct, fraud, regulatory compliance, root cause analysis, harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest and retaliation. You will review and prioritize cases based on the significance of the underlying facts; lead strategy for case planning and effectively resource plan; address risk factors in conducting investigations; identify trends and potential remedial measures; provide status updates regarding the progress of the investigation to the Reporting Party, Subject(s), senior management and executive leadership; and when appropriate, coordinate investigations with Audits, Corporate Security and the Law Department. In addition, you will investigate and support Potential Significant Non-Compliance (PSNC) events and privileged investigations as needed, in collaboration with Compliance, Audit Services Department, Law Department, and business organizations.

Conduct complex investigations including PSNCs and privileged investigations.
Use the Ethics Office’s Investigation procedures when conducting investigations and ensure that all steps are documented into the case file. Interview witnesses such as the reporting party, witnesses and subject(s), and analyze and review the pertinent documents and forensic data, and gather relevant facts. Request and analyze potential evidentiary data such as, but not limited to, computer forensics (i.e. email, web history, Skype messages), badge swipe activity, and timesheet data.
Draft well written and comprehensive reports that contain the factual support for any conclusions reached. The reports should be fair and objective in the application of the facts to the relevant sections of the Code and Company policies. Determine which (if any) evidentiary documentation should be attached to the report of investigation. Reports of investigation in which allegations are substantiated are read by organizational unit Directors and above, Law Department and Human Resources Leadership as applicable.
Collaborate with various partners as needed such as Human Resources, Corporate Security, Disability Management and Worker’s Compensation to address any issues or concerns and to maintain a good working relationship.
Provide updates on a bi-weekly basis to CECO, SCE General Counsel, and VP Audits of investigation findings and any proposed remedial measures.
Attend and participate in the Monthly Compliance Briefing in order to provide an update to executives on such matters. If working groups are created as a result of the PSNC, such as a PMO, attend and actively participate in such working groups.
Analyze information developed from multiple investigations to identify trends and patterns. Collaborate with Compliance and management to identify any potential remedial measures and root causes.
Provide guidance as needed to junior investigators.
Qualifications
The essentials
Ten (10) or more years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating and/or resolving claims for or against a company (e.g., performing HR investigations, conducting root cause analyses, conducting internal employee investigations, conducting investigative audits, or investigating violations).The preferred
Bachelors degree or higher degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field.
Law degree from an accredited law school.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Law license; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP); Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate.
Four (4) or more years of experience in Audit Services, Federal or state law enforcement, Claims investigations, Human Resources Employee Representative or Labor Representative, or practicing Attorney in Labor & Employment or Former Prosecutor.
Experience preparing oral and written investigative reports.
Strong writing skills.

This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

The primary work location is Rosemead, CA
Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
Relocation does not apply to this position.

This position requires testing. Applicants who are selected to move forward following the interview will have a hands-on Ethics Investigator Performance Exercise, including a sample ethics scenario and mock investigative interview.
