This role will be responsible for evaluating customer’s Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and providing manufacturing solutions and pricing that give the company a competitive advantage. The Estimator serves as a business partner to the sales and operations teams to ensure financial viability of product offerings.

Job Overview:
Provide accurate and timely quotes to customers.
Formalize quoting process and supporting documentation.
Manage system pricing and price update process.
Oversee tracking and reporting of quoting volume.
Collaborate with the business development team to determine and execute the best strategies for winning new projects.
Compares estimates to actual costs to determine accuracy of quotes.
Continuously increase knowledge of company products, services and procedures.
Analyze customer data, 2D and 3D for moldability and critical design requirements to establish accurate mold quotes.
Create preliminary mold designs.
Train new employees added to the department.
Investigate and resolve engineering problems utilizing available resources in all aspects of the program, including tooling, processing, part qualification, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, sales, quoting, billing, quality control, product design, improvement recommendations and general program organization and management.
Ad hoc projects and reporting.
Any other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
A qualified Estimator would fulfill these requirements:
Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, in a related field of study, a four-year university program, in a related field of study, or accrued on-the-job training and experience (5-10 years).
Plastic injection mold tooling/Toolmaking background required.
Demonstrated working knowledge of standard cost systems in a manufacturing environment.
Process improvement mindset with successful initiatives resulting in improvement to business processes.
Experience with CREO and/or Smartsheets is huge plus!
