Responsibilities You will prepare lesson plans by selecting from and adapting instructor texts, guide, and/or commercial texts or developing a unique plan of instructions. You will integrate use of the latest audio, video and computer software, utilizing the latest education technology delivery systems. You will demonstrate linguistic and pedagogical expertise as well as technical subject matter familiarity, knowledge of content and organization of training materials. You will provide instruction to a diverse student body from varying backgrounds; students range in age from 18 to over 60. You will ensure students practice Foreign Language (EFL) skills of listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. You will develop students' abilities to comprehend oral and written materials of both general and occupational/technical nature. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at GS-9 or equivalent to the grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) from basic elementary to advanced English to a diverse student body from varying backgrounds and civilian rank structures. Experience planning, preparing, and coordinating instructional activities as part of lesson plans adapted from instructor texts, guides, and/or commercial texts, or developing unique plans of instruction to meet specific linguistic or pedagogical needs. Experience providing counseling and student placement recommendations based on observations, assessment, and evaluations. FOR GS-9: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at GS-7 or equivalent to the grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience engaging with students to ensure their continuous practice of EFL language skills of listening comprehension, speaking, and reading and writing during the course of instruction for EFL/ESP.
