  Miraval is hiring an Equine Facilitator who will lead or assist with all Equine Programming as assigned, including but not limited to classes such as: Equine Experience, Common Ground, Purple Sage Equine Meditation, Journey to Self. In addition, the Equine Facilitator will be responsible for the duties of care, feeding, upkeep of horses on the property, in accordance with Miraval standards, systems, and protocols. Care and upkeep of the horses also includes regularly working with horses for the purpose of training, reinforcing, and developing physical, emotional, and psychological well-being and preparedness to participate in horse human experiential sessions with a wide variety of people. This role is responsible for the care and upkeep of ranch facilities, grounds, tack; and all other duties associated with maintaining an excellent equine facility. The Equine Facilitator will demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality programming; and a commitment to caring for colleagues, guests, vendors and each other so they can be their best.

  Essential duties:

  Lead and assist/co-facilitate with private and group Equine Program offerings as assigned. (Common Ground, Equine Experience, Journey to Self, etc)

  Work cooperatively with the team to take excellent care of guests, vendors, colleagues, horses, tack, equipment and facility daily.

  Maintain guest confidentiality in all guest interactions.

  Provide high quality horse care to ensure the health of the herd, including but not limited to assisting with vet visits, hoof care practitioner visits, daily grooming, daily horse wellness checks (ability to identify distress, illness, lameness, injury, etc), observation of herd dynamics, doctoring.

  Work cooperatively to share an even distribution of work responsibilities, and to support team members.

  Adhere to Attendance and Tardiness policy; adhere to policies for paid and unpaid breaks (see attached policies from Employee Handbook)

  Prioritize a welcoming, congruent, and safe environment at the ranch for guests, colleagues, vendors, and horses.

  Proactively engage with guests to promote the Equine Program.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

  Must have Qualifications:

  Extensive horse handling experience, comfortable working with a variety of horses, demonstrated willingness to learn new ways of working with horses without use of force or coercion; knowledge of/expertise in subtleties of equine body language, calming signals, communication and safety.

  Ability to partner with horses at liberty as co-facilitators of experiential sessions with humans.

  Ability to lead or assist with small group discussions with an experiential learning focus.

  Ability to create a safe physical and emotional space for guest and horse interactions.

  Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. on a daily basis.

  Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions including extreme heat, wind, dust and cold.

  Ability to be fully engaged in listening to and processing guest experiences is essential to this position.

  Ability to sit with uncomfortable emotions (your own and other’s) and remain calm and open is essential to this position.

  Demonstrated interest and commitment to mindfulness

  CPR/First Aid certified preferred.
