The Department of Environmental Quality is looking to fill two Environmental Scientist III positions in the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series. Principal Duties
Evaluate field investigation work plans and reports.Evaluate groundwater sampling and monitoring data.Evaluate corrective action work plans and reports.Evaluate remedial activities for closure and post closure.Ideal Candidate *The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years experience in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) corrective action. A PG/PE is not required,but having a PG/PE or the ability to achieve a PG/PE is preferred. Experience with site characterization of various media (soil,groundwater,air) and multiple chemicals (organic and inorganic); sampling experience; selection of and evaluation of the efficacy of corrective measures and remedial alternatives; evaluating groundwater data and assessment,groundwater plumes,and trends; and closure and post closure.*PreferencesPreference may be given to candidates with the following:
