What You’ll Do:
Conduct standard biodegradation tests
Sterile handling of samples and understanding of aseptic technique
Quantification of pH value
Measurement of ammonia, nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand (COD) dissolved oxygen (DO) in environmental samples
Mix large batches of mineral media
Assist current lab personnel to conduct enzyme studies to evaluate biodegradation
Conduct benchtop wastewater treatment plant removal studies
Equipment calibration and maintenance
Lab upkeep, cleaning and stocking of supplies
Report results in laboratory notebooks and maintain up to date documentation
What You’ll Need:
BS in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, microbiology, biology or closely related field
Masters preferred
1-3 Years of Laboratory Testing Procedures
In-depth knowledge of environmental science laboratory testing procedures
Experience evaluating the environmental fate of materials
Extensive chemical, biological or microbiology laboratory experience is preferred
Familiar with laboratory extraction procedures
Analytical experience with TOC, HPLC, and other standard analytical techniques
Precise attention to detail
Self-motivated and self-sufficient
Exhibits good writing, communication, and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and similar programs.
