This position is located in Greenville PA, at ILSCO Extrusions and will report directly to the Director of Engineering. The Greenville organization specializes in extruded and fabricated aluminum componentry for intercompany use and external 3rd party customers. The site also serves as home to multiple tenants with nVent/ILSCO Extrusions as the lessor. KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will:
• Facilitate EHS objectives by providing clear and continuous direction for the site.
• Maintain strong shop floor presence and be considered the key point of contact for safety, health, and environmental-related inquiries.
• Utilize proactive safety methodology and deploy improvements as needed.
• Monitor applicable EHS regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts; provide information to operations leadership as appropriate; work with other safety and environmental compliance resources as required.
• Manage environmental compliance processes to ensure intnernal nVent, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements are met, specifically as they relate to water, waste management, discharge and other permit-related obligations.
• Responsible for PADEP compliance, NPDES permit, and public drinking water supply permit renewals and revisions including scheduled electronic DMR submissions and testing or laboratory results, certifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate and engage plant employees and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals that positively impact and add value to the organization.
• Manage EHS documents, vendor contracts and permit administration.
• Working with human resources, legal, and a medical panel of physicians, assist with workers compensation cases.
• Facilitate incident reporting and participate in incident investigation and root cause analyses.
• Facilitate EHS training to ensure all regulatory and company obligations are met.
• Provide monthly internal reporting requirements (water consumption, municipal discharge, waste details, indirect energy, etc.) according to a prescribed schedule. • Submit necessary reporting metrics to external agencies (local/state/federal).
• Continuously drive EHS culture transformation with EHS Lean.
• Monitor progress towards campus safety and environmental objectives.
• Identify needed support from outside consultants; develop scope of work and manage issuance of contracts and permits pertaining to OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate behavior based safety and ergonomic improvement activities.
• Monitor the activities of all EHS department team members.
• Champion Social Responsibility & Sustainability initiatives across the site.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Academic background in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Health Science, or Environmental Management. Experience may be substituted for a degree.
• 5+ years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems and processes.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other relevant systems.
• Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in he manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization and outside resources.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with preferences toward Lean methodology.
• Ability to influence prioritization of activities to maintain safety and compliance.
