Job Description Entry-Level Machinist 1801 Theurer Blvd, Winona, MN 55987 MN180 Manufacturing Facility Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN All Hours Available Up to 28 hours/week OVERVIEW: Working as Part-time Entry-Level Machinist-Apprentice, you will learn about the operation and programing of CNC machining equipment. You will develop basic machinist skill sets during the training and operation of approved equipment. Skills developed include blueprint reading, precision measurement, machine set up and operation, part inspection and packaging. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Learning proficient interpretation of blueprints o Learning precision measurement techniques with various precision measurement equipment o Learning the operation of various pieces of CNC equipment o Performing approved operations for part production o Performing accurate inspections and proper documentation on product o Packaging product for shipment REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Must be a part of a state approved Youth Skills Training or Apprentice program, or be accepted into Fastenal Manufacturings Sponsorship Program o Must be 16 years of age or older to participate in the Youth Skills Training or Apprentice program o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Exhibit strong desire to learn and perform in a hands on environment o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Proficient in basic math skills o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior experience in a high school shop class ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
