  Job Description:

The Austin, Texas office is seeking an engineer with a background in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering; geotechnical engineering; or structural engineering for a staff level position to support our growing dam engineering business. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

  Job Responsibilities:

  Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.

  Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines

  Perform hydraulic, geotechnical and/or structural analysis and design calculations for dams and hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.

  Ability to travel and work in the field is required, including assignments that may last several months away from the office.

  Observe and log test borings

  Observe construction and perform materials testing

  Required Skills/Experience:

  A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related) from an ABET accredited program with an emphasis in Hydraulics, Hydrology, or Water Resources Engineering; or Geotechnical Engineering; or Structural Engineering, and 0-2 years of related professional experience. Prior internship or professional work in related field is a plus.

  Successful completion of the EIT.

  Familiarity with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SITES, GeoStudio, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Revit and GIS software is a plus, but not required. These programs are used extensively, so a willingness to learn them is a must.

  Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  Positive attitude and self-motivation to grow professionally.

  Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside.

  Other Requirements:

  Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, credit check.

  Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
