　　Your Opportunity

　　We have an opportunity for an Engineering, Architecture, or Technical Design Student for a 4-month design role starting in May 2024. This opportunity is available in our Whitehorse office.

　　This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated energetic student who is interested in growth on a professional and personal level. We offer the opportunity to challenge your abilities in a dynamic work environment where there is an open office atmosphere and personal communication is important. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a variety of projects. You will assist architecture and engineering related projects across Northern Canada using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials. In this role, you can apply what you have learned by helping prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, or sketches from conceptual design through to construction. Some field work may be required throughout this work term.

　　Your Key Responsibilities

　　Under the close guidance and direction from an experienced Engineer or Architect:

　　Support project design and documentation.

　　Assist with field work and site visits.

　　Collaborate with team members within the project team.

　　Assist with general office practices.

　　Work on projects within multi-disciplinary teams.

　　Qualifications

　　Your Capabilities and Credentials

　　Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, SketchUp, Revit and MS Office would be an asset.

　　Detail oriented in maintaining systems and procedures for records/project management.

　　Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and staff.

　　Self-motivated and self-starter with a strong work ethic.

　　Good time management skills and able to work in a fast-paced work environment.

　　Eager to learn with strong listening and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

　　A valid class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record.

　　Education and Experience

　　Working towards a technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering or architecture from an accredited institution.

　　Stantec has been approved to employ a Yukon Post-Secondary student in this position under the Student Training and Employment Program (STEP). Preference will be given to students who meet the eligibility requirements for the STEP program who also complete an application through https://yukon.ca/en/student-job-listings-step by February 2, 2024.

　　Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
