　　Position Overview

　　Engineering Manager II’s are leaders of our engineering teams, responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting common features. Working side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, they are actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an agile environment including technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, integration testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deploys and upgrades.

　　We are looking for an Engineering Manager II in our Product and Technology Organization to lead up to two teams within our Benefits Product domain. You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of engineering teams building and supporting our products and solutions. Acting as a servant leader to provide direction over meaningful cross-team initiatives that are essential in Paylocity’s growth story. This position requires a commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to build a collaborative culture within the team. This in turn will ensure we continue to innovate and expand our market-leading product suite.

　　Responsibilities

　　· Independently lead up to two engineering teams in the development or enhancement of products, solutions, and processes

　　· Understand, facilitate, and evolve the core processes of team (development, planning, on-call rotations, bug triage, metrics review, etc.)

　　· Empower and unblock a team to deliver impact at a high velocity by establishing efficient execution and operational processes and hold the team accountable while cultivating a healthy team environment

　　· Coach and mentor team members toward achieving expectations and progressing in their career

　　· Work with up to two teams and product partners within a single domain that may contain multiple products or applications

　　· Own the overall health and engineering quality of the product(s) owned within a domain or function

　　· Independently lead the activities of a team towards execution on projects/goals that are often beyond the scope of immediate team

　　· Initiate and lead cross-team collaboration

　　Requirements

　　· Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn

　　· Must have a strong sense of curiosity

　　· Must commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasks

　　· Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment

　　· Must be effective and creative in problem-solving

　　· 3+ years of Software Engineering Management experience

　　· Fluent written and verbal communication skills that enable collaboration with technical or business-centric peers

　　Nice to haves

　　· Experience with Domain Driven Design, cloud-based solutions, leading large-scale delivery, and modernization of software systems

　　· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

　　· Experience with product migration from data-center to cloud

　　· Experience with managing a large-scale SaaS production environment for availability, reliability, and resiliency

　　· Prior experience with Cloud Platforms Azure, GCP, or AWS

　　· RESTful API design and development

　　This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $130,189 - $240,220 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
