  Opportunity

  The Manager- Engineering, Creative Lab is responsible for planning, coordinating and driving innovative concept development for the K&B business. The leader provides strategic direction and technical guidance for the identification, planning, and execution of engineering concept development projects that will position Kohler on the leading edge of innovation and technology. In addition, the leader manages, trains, and coaches their team to deliver customer insights and creative solutions to advance the business and deliver significant value to our customers.

  Specific Responsibilities

  Drive execution of creative engineering concept development and the realization of concepts into physical or rendered models.

  Identify innovation opportunities and evaluate based on risk levels and value to the business.

  Manage the project pipeline (innovation funnel) from initial discovery through concept development and proof of design.

  Coach and mentor team members in concept development, creative problem solving, project management, and communication.

  Communicate the value of product concepts to the business using visual and physical models as well as storytelling.

  Leverage expertise and skills from functions and teams throughout the business to gain insights and deliver innovative solutions.

  Guide the transition of creative concepts into NPD projects to maximize the success of concept commercialization.

  Maintain a strong awareness of technology trends and incorporate insights into concept development plans.

  Skills/Requirements

  A BS in engineering is preferred.

  At least 10 years of product development experience.

  At least 4 years of previous supervisory experience in a product development environment.

  Must possess a keen analytical mind, be strong on planning and detail, and be a demonstrably creative thinker.

  Strategic agility with a strong pragmatic approach.Can define a clear vision and is ableto clearly articulate immediate goals and actions.

  Tolerant of ambiguity and drives to clarity by bringing order and structure to work.

  Has the ability to communicate clearly and influence at all levels.

  Operates with candor, enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to achieve business results.

  Travel approximately 10-20%

  The salary range for this position is $125,700 - $160,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
