What IT Network contributes to Cardinal Health
IT Network Datacenters and Security is responsible for designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the Cardinal Health local and wide area networks and the Cardinal Health telephone systems, small and medium contact centers, and relationships with telecom service and maintenance vendors.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, WLANs, Cisco & HP network devices.Demonstrated thorough understanding of network security concepts and systems including F5, WSA, Palo Alto, ASADemonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.Configures and implements network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, load balancers as break/fix or enhancement requests.Ability to troubleshoot network issues as they arise across various corporate and remote site environments.Applies comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities.Monitors network traffic and security devices for performance problems.Investigates and resolves client and vendor incidents through maintenance contracts.Creates and maintains diagrams of network topologies.Participates in the development policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.Works on complex projects of large scopeIndependently determines method for completion of new projects and tasks. Receives general guidance on overall project objectivesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field preferredMinimum 4 years’ experience required, 3+ years preferred in supporting enterprise applicationsMust have strong oral communication and writing skills.Packet tracingknowledge/understandingexperienceAbility to utilize monitoring tools to analyze network consumption.Hands on experience with Cisco, F5 and Palo Alto hardwareExtensive network infrastructure backgroundStrong IT Technical and process skillsActs as a mentor to less experienced colleaguesAttention to detail and customer service skillsMust be willing to be on an on-call rotationMust be willing to work shifts at irregular hours to perform maintenance at unobtrusive times or resolve critical issues.Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
