　　This position can be hired as either an Engineer III or Senior Engineer depending on experience

　　Job Summary

　　The Engineer III position is the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied. This position will focus on providing reliability data both internally and externally for the company. They will also be responsible for helping maintain and promote good reliability performance for our wholesale customers.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Demonstrates strong attention to detail

　　Demonstrates strong organizational skills and maintains accurate records and files

　　Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills

　　Develops and maintains positive working relationships both internally and externally with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) and wholesale customers to effectively coordinate work activities

　　Works with many organizations across Customer Delivery and Transmission to generate and submit annual reliability reports to the IURC.

　　Generates internal reliability reports and analyzes outage data to provide recommendations on how to improve reliability

　　Supports Outage Follow Up Techs in reliability research and analysis

　　Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity,

　　Contributes to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities,

　　Deals with changing priorities and differing situations and makes decision that may affect the work of the team,

　　Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity,

　　Conducts engineering and related studies

　　Completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with increasing ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; increasingly competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems,

　　Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures, proficient in technical and analytical competencies,

　　Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally

　　Basic Requirements - Engineer lll

　　Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.

　　In addition to required degree, 4 years related work experience

　　Basic Requirements - Senior Engineer

　　Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree

　　Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.

　　Additional Preferred Qualifications

　　Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.

　　Strong background working with Microsoft Excel.

　　Experience in the utility industry.

　　Experience in analyzing distribution reliability data.

　　Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles.

　　Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations.

　　Good written and oral communication skills.

　　Working Conditions

　　Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility.Travel Requirements
