Job Description
Re:Sources is seeking a Senior Counsel to assist our North America business. The ideal candidate will provide sound legal advice and counsel to our agencies within Publicis Groupe in support of their daily operations.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on an ongoing basis in areas of advertising and media law, including but not limited to claim substantiation, trademark clearance, copyright, rights of privacy and publicity, user-generated content, website development, technology, e-commerce, and media and social media matters.
Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including client-agency, supplier/media owner, media placement, sponsorship, talent, confidentiality, and intellectual property licenses and agreements
Review marketing materials to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations, as well as adherence to best industry practices and any client requirements
Conduct preliminary trademark searches and review full trademark searches
Educate, advise, and counsel management on legal issues affecting business decisions
Provide periodic training to business units on key legal issues affecting operations
Provide day to day legal support to the business teams
Standardize templates, processes and legal guidance where possible to improve efficiency of legal services to business units
Qualifications
JD degree from an ABA accredited law school
6+ years of relevant experience
Must be licensed to practice and in good standing in Illinois
Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical and organizational skills
Excellent business judgment with a capacity to make decisions and give advice, demonstrating a deep and practical understanding of overall business objectives and risk
Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, challenging and constantly changing environment
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to varied audiences and stakeholders
Ability to develop partnerships and to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of our organization and externally
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
Solid organizational and time management skills
Service- and results-oriented with outstanding attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
