　　As a nonprofit trusted agent of the Government, Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is customer driven, mission focused, and technology enabled. SDL has been solving the technical challenges faced by the military, science community, and industry for more than six decades.

　　Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations. SDL is seeking a highly motivated Software DevSecOps Engineer that has demonstrated experience in managing DevSecOps pipelines and technologies.  A successful candidate should be enthusiastic and comfortable learning and teaching new technologies and processes and be able to discover a solution utilizing every possible avenue, seeking help and providing help to others.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　Work with multiple engineering and IT disciplines to ensure software and systems are designed, built, and fielded in a secure, compliant manner.

　　Work with development to modernize the architecture of an existing software applications.

　　Design, implement, manage, and document DevSecOps pipeline tooling from end-to-end.  Following established SDL, government, and industry standards.

　　Help establish secure, reusable solutions and processes.

　　Support a 24/7 build pipeline and associated tooling.

　　Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

　　Required Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

　　5+ years of DevSecOps, information technology, software development, or build management.

　　Experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java, or Python).

　　Experience setting up, configuring, and monitoring Virtual Machine environments like Virtual Box and VMWare.

　　Experience designing and using container systems like Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher.

　　Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud systems like Amazon AWS and EKS.

　　Experience with Windows & Linux system administration, including bash and PowerShell.

　　Experience with all phases software development lifecycle.

　　Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling including build, test, code scanning, deployment.

　　Understanding of continuous monitoring, security scanning, container image scanning, identity management, PKI, IaC, CaC.

　　Experience with tools such as SonarQube, Parasoft, Fortify, Nessus, Git, JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus, Jenkins, Gitlab, Helm, Ansible, Atlassian Bitbucket and Jira.

　　Ability to lead and mentor others.

　　Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

　　Able to present ideas and concepts effectively.

　　Able to work independently and with team members.

　　Experience utilizing software design patterns and software configuration management.

　　Experience with Agile and Lean software development methodologies.

　　Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Familiar with government DevSecOps best practices.

　　Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.

　　Capable of writing and troubleshooting application code in at least one programming language.

　　CompTIA Security+ Certification.

　　Cloud, Security, or IT Certifications.

　　Experience with both cloud and on-prem development.

　　Experience working with Cyber Security processes.

　　8+ years of software development or information systems experience.

　　Software quality assurance experience.
