　　Core Responsibilities

　　What You’ll DoAs a member of the Monitoring and Observability Team, you’ll help support, drive improvements and create new functionality on our platforms that provide real-time data and insights to our support teams

　　You will have primary responsibility for the support and maintenance of Sky’s BMC Discovery Solution, including VM builds, VM restarts, security patches, software updates, troubleshooting and liasing with the networks team to support the continuing rollout

　　Own and support the ongoing BMC Discovery firewall rules

　　Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and servers, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

　　Provide incident management support, responding to and resolving technical issues in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.

　　Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions using enterprise monitoring tools such as Opsview, Prometheus, and Grafana, ensuring comprehensive visibility into the infrastructure's health and performance.

　　Collaborate with the wider team to implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption.

　　Candidate Specification

　　There’s plenty of opportunity to learn on the job, so we’d love to speak to you about this role even if your experience does not match our current technology stack. There’s no requirement for you to have a degree or formal qualifications.

　　At least 2 years experience in a monitoring or devop discipline is essential

　　A passion for technology with skills in the following areas.

　　Linux and Windows system administrationScripting skills in Linux, SQL and Powershell is essentialInterest and ability to learn other development languages & tools as required.

　　Ideally (although, not essential) you’ll have experience with BMC Helix Discovery (training will be provided)

　　Some experience of network operations would be useful, including understanding firewalls and network protocols

　　Experience with Cloud connectivity (GCP, AWS) is of advantage
