The Encounter Data Management Professional develops business processes to ensure successful submission and reconciliation of encounter submissions to Medicaid/Medicare. Ensures encounter submissions meet or exceed all compliance standards via analysis of data and develops tools to enhance the encounter acceptance rate by Medicaid/Medicare. Looks for long term improvements of encounter submission processes. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

The Encounter Data Management Professional ensures data integrity for claims errors. The Encounter Data Management Professional will work with large datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission or encounter data to specific partners. The Encounter Data Management Professional work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. This role will support Tennessee and Puerto Rico DSNP submissions. Professional will need to research claims in CAS and execute queries in SQL.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations or other related field or 1+ years of related experience

1 year + X12 experience

1 year + strong understanding of healthcare claims and encounter data

Experience in leveraging data-driven insights to make informed decisions

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information to diverse audiences and work with cross-functional teams.

Skilled in using analytical tools (Ex: Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms)

1+ years of experience in detailed process improvement and documentation

Ability to work East Coast hours

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CAS, MTV or eHub

Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL or SAS

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$57,700 - $79,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
