About Employment Services Specialist

  Employment Services Specialist (ESS)

  Rate of pay $17 - $19.50.

  Position requirements: 

  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business or related course of study and one year of related experience,

  or  Associates degree program in Human Services, Business or related course of study and two years of related experience

  or  High School diploma with three years of related experience

  *Driver’s license is required, as well as working vehicle and willingness to drive personal vehicle

  Please note: Employment Service Specialists (ESS) working with Job Placement and Supported Employment Services may need additional qualifications, education, training, and/or experience.

  Vocational experience or prior work with people with disabilities is preferred.

  Responsibilities MAY include:

  Career search, building pre-employment skills, and helping to maintain successful continued employment.

  Coach individuals through career exploration, focusing on employment goals & passions

  Empower individuals with hard and soft skill-building through hands-on curriculums

  Enhance socialization and community involvement for individuals through active volunteerism

  Increase independence by aiding in application, resume, and interview preparations

  Facilitate supportive employment by helping individuals locate and maintain positions

  Ensure continued success with on-site job coaching

  *You will support individuals at various locations and places of employment throughout the Mohawk Valley.
