  About the Position:

  The Employment Services Representative provides casework employment services to unemployed participants in the areas of employment preparation, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search, and placement.  This position provides a variety of wrap-around resources to support participant transition into long-term sustainable work. 

  What You Will Do:

  Conduct initial intake and needs assessments for all participants assigned to caseload. Maintain an updated roster of participant placements.

  Actively collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities for participants.

  Notify prospective employers of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the fidelity bonding incentive, and any other benefits for hiring participants.

  Prepare and update a monthly roster of those employers willing to hire participants and provide the roster to DOR (Department of Rehabilitation) upon request.

  Correspond with the AOR (Agent of Record) prior to placement to ensure there are no limitations of job location and or job types.

  Provide basic knowledge on how to mentor participants in disclosing appropriate information regarding past convictions and/or parole status to potential employers.

  Provide participants with basic knowledge of the criminal record expungement process, the benefits of completing the process, and/or the ability to provide information or a referral on how to expunge a criminal record or obtain a Certificate of Rehabilitation.

  Prepare, review, and update Individual Services Plans (ISP) for participants assigned to caseload. Develop discharge plans.

  Develop and monitor the participant’s progress relative to their Individual Services Plans (ISP) through all phases of the program and confer regularly with DOR (Department of Rehabilitation) staff concerning program progress and transition planning.

  Document all progress and all services provided in the participant's case files of employment effort/status. Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.

  Maintain collaborative relationships evidenced by effective communication with Program Director, DOR liaisons, and participants.

  Provide employment services including resume writing, mock interviews, time management, how to get along with others in a work environment, and how to follow instructions.

  Assist participants to become prepared for the workforce and locate and secure employment, educational services, or CTE training.

  Assist participants in assembling the necessary documents to legally work within California and completing their initial résumé.

  Address issues that may arise after job placement including participants who lose their job in again securing job placement.

  Ensure program compliance with Amity policies and procedures, relevant to federal and state regulations and contract obligations.

  Attend workshops, meetings, and training as requested by the supervisor.

  May serve as Community Advocate role in addition to a job as requested by community leadership.

  Performs other related duties as assigned.

  What You Will Bring:

  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related fields, OR A High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of experience as a job developer or similar position.

  A minimum of one year’s experience in a job development or similar role is preferred.

  Basic knowledge and experience with the criminal record expungement process are a plus!

  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  Ability to maintain confidential information.

  Ability to operate general office equipment.

  Ability to exercise an amount of empathy and understands the importance of role reversal.

  Demonstrates skill in patience, active listening, and interest in diverse life stories. 

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a genuine enthusiasm for helping people.

  Demonstrates proper attitudes and techniques and techniques to residential student
