　　The Role:

　　The Amazon Device OS team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to drive world class quality in the software platform that makes a one of a kind experience today, and will enable exciting new capabilities tomorrow. As a SDE in this team, you will be leading test automation and infrastructure development and creating tools to support test automation. A candidate will need to define automation strategy, automation cases as well as driving improvements in test tools. You should command the skill to communicate clearly and effectively. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.

　　Job responsibilities

　　OS Performance optimizations and improvements

　　Software Development Engineer for Cross OS performance team. Our main focus areas are:

　　Understanding of complex system. Ability to dive deep, understand how big, complicated software system works, be able to extract this info from the code and limited documentation

　　Communication. Ability to explain a complicated issue to a fellow engineers as well as execs, clear and concise verbal and written communication.

　　Basic qualifications

　　• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

　　2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

　　Experience programming with at least one software programming language

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

　　Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
