About Embedded Software Dev Engineer, Antenna Team

  Description

  Join Amazon Project Kuiper. Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

  In this role, you’ll be supporting the development, integration, and deployment of the world’s most advanced Phased Arrays and Modems. On this team you'll be integrating the unique algorithms that make an phased array antenna function and work in coordination with our advanced modem architecture.

  Export Control Requirement

  Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  Key job responsibilities

  You’ll support the embedded phased array development and MAC functionality required to test a phased array and deploy advanced algorithms for tracking, control, steering, and testing.

  Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, Python or other), test, and integration in an embedded Linux or real-time operating system (RTOS) environment.

  Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, I3C, SPI, SERDES, Ethernet, etc. communications.

  Work closely with hardware teams to support board design, bring-up, and verification, as well as integration and test.

  Interface with System Development engineers to automate data acquisition, transport and processing

  Interface with Antenna Engineers to automate post-processing using third-party software suites and generation of test reports.

  Follow best practices in high reliability embedded software development to ensure high levels of reliability and availability.

  About the team

  Our team designs, develops, and tests the worlds most advanced phased arrays. The team consist of electromagnetic, algorithmic, software, and antenna experts which are driven to develop the Kuiper antenna systems.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Redmond, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  Preferred Qualifications

  3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
