The role of the ES Associate Technology Coordinator is to provide support, coordination, and leadership in the use of technology and digital systems to support all aspects of the elementary school and its programs. The elementary school has a 1 to 1 iPad program for students and all teachers are equipped with laptops and ipads.
As an ES Associate Technology Coordinator, you bring the technical skills and problem-solving ability to help students and adults with a wide range of questions and computer issues. You will help teach end users how to solve their problems and reassure them when they are in a technology crisis.
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL...
Contribute towards the development of a 12 month road-map, identifying major divisional technology initiatives and projects to plan for.
Review previous support tickets, looking for commonly-asked questions so that you become familiar with our users and their most frequent issues.
Learn pertinent software tools (e.g. Google Drive, SeeSaw, Veracross, Coda).
Meet weekly with the Technology and Innovation Coordinator team to share new issues or challenges and to help plan new projects.
Meet weekly with the Technology Help Desk team to share successes and accomplishments an new issues or challenges and to help plan new projects.
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL...
Visit elementary school classrooms with the Technology and Innovation Coordinator to observe how students and teachers leverage digital technology to accelerate learning.
Demonstrate product proficiency with Veracross, and be able to train office staff on query design and report building and be able to train teachers on the report card writing.
Achieve at least Google Certified Educator Level 1 certification, and have a plan for full Google Trainer certification.
Attend at least one parent workshop to gain an initial understanding of the parent experience with technology at SAS.
Serve on any active committees or focus groups, such as the Learning Management System (LMS) software review project, the EdTech visioning team, or teams investigating the impact of AI in education.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LL...
Be the Veracross and SeeSaw expert and the go-to technical resource for the elementary school. You will demonstrate proficiency and understanding of: scheduling, gradebook setup, data integrations, and advanced features by creating how-to manuals and videos and by leading training sessions.
Engage with the Veracross and SeeSaw customer support team to analyze new features and customization requests.
Complete Google Certified trainer coursework.
WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LL...
Be fully certified as a Google Trainer.
Assist with adult orientation by conducting onboarding workshops and training sessions for new faculty and staff.
Train teachers and staff on the use of Veracross.
Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and faculty meetings, conduct teacher training sessions and lead small-group workshops.
Gather data to plan the replacement of outdated technology, including an analysis of the laptop and iPad inventory, and assessment of classroom video and audio systems.
Proactively identify, pilot and implement ways to improve the use of technology at SAS, assess results and refine.
Support the student laptop program, including conducting new student orientation sessions and acting as first point of contact for support, troubleshooting and solution management. Maintain a log of issues in the technology knowledgebase.
Train and support office staff on use of technology. (For example, use of Google tools, mail merge, label printing, attendance reporting)
Train and support faculty on use of technology in planned workshops, department meetings, or one-on-one support (e.g. gradebooks, report cards, troubleshooting errors and integration
