Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PSNS. Responsibilities You will perform operation and integrity tests to determine the extent of repair required prior to calibration. You will perform maintenance and calibration on a wide variety of equipment and radiation measurement devices. You will calculate the intensity of radiation of known strength, or the distance from a source of radiation of known strength. You will provide technical assistance/guidance to lower level technicians involved in the various aspects of electronic repair/calibration and testing performed. You will research engineering literature and technical documentation in order to develop/design special test procedures for highly complex electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical devices. You will develop measurement techniques that will accurately verify predetermined performance specifications. You will oversee the quality control of the work performed by lower level technicians within the Calibration Laboratory. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, developing and modifying technical electronics engineering test procedures to identify and recommend corrective action to operational deficiencies in support of the maintenance and repair of electronic components and subsystems.
