JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: This position is responsible forinstalling, maintaining, terminating, and testing of electricalequipment/components on ships at our vast, 63-acre facility. DetailedDescription: Must have safety mindset. Follows directions underintermittent supervision. Plan layout and install electrical wiring,equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications, USCG, and ABSRules. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or othercomponents. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits inelectrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures to ensure compatibility andsafety of system. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or componentsto identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, andto ensure compliance with codes. Diagnose malfunctioning systems,apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locatethe cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Work from ladders,scaffolds, or AWP to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring,equipment, or fixtures. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, orfixtures, using hand tools or power tools. Assemble, install, test, ormaintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances,apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. Pull, route,and band cables. Troubleshoot problems with all equipment as it arises.Proper storage of equipment. May be assigned miscellaneous tasks outsidecraft as required.
