Siemens Energy Alpharetta Electrical Engineering group is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong interest power generation, power electronics, and power transmission and have studied or worked on these areas.
The role will be performing application engineering design for Excitation systems, Starting Frequency Converters and protection systems from conception to completion for power generation application.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Carry a project from kick off to completing turnover documents in timely and efficiently.
Work with external and internal customers along with other engineers from different fields to complete the project.
Some travel to power generating facilities will be required to collect information on their current systems.
Provide support to our customers with different types of excitation equipment.
Provide critical support and training to other engineers.
Development team will require help in different tasks which expose engineers to different sides of the business.
Support as subject matter to Hotline with related tickets.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Coursework related to power generation, power transmission or electrical machines or work experience in these fields.
5+ years electrical engineering experience. Prior power generation, oil refinery or similar industrial experience.
Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision.
Critical thinking capability and approach to problems logical way.
Strong knowledgeable team is looking for another great team member!
At least 30% travel.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
