Job Overview:
The Electrical Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of electrical engineering and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward electrical problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Electrical Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform FEED, Studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks.
Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments.
Is familiar with the use of codes and standards.
Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines.
Is able to coordinate work with design team.
Focus on completing work within budgets.
Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities.
Working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
3-8 yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Prefer PE or EIT certificate of registration
1-3 yrs. years of detailed electrical engineering experience
Familiarity with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ANSI, and the latest scientific and engineering methods
Technical knowledge of the detailed design engineering process
Experience with Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL), ETAP, and MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
