Required Qualifications: BA/BS with at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years. Clinical experience with dogs and cats and/or experience in teaching/mentoring. Hours of Work: Hours of work vary and are flexible, but include one 15 minute paid break for every 4 hours worked and one 30 minute unpaid lunch break per shift. This is a temporary casual appointment for up to 6 months. Preferred Qualifications: * AAS and/or BS/BA degree in related field of study * Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) * Experience with Microsoft Office, Google platform, Excel, and Canvas Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; push, pull, use hands to hold, handle or feel animals or objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; restrain animals with both hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance, occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds with assistance. Work environment: This work is generally performed at the University of Minnesota (UMN), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). This work environment may include exposure to noise, bright/low lighting, temperature variations, and allergens such as mold, dust, hay and animal hair and dander.
