Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates to fill an Education Program Assistant 1 position in the Charter School Office (CSO). This Office fosters high-quality public education options for all students, families, and communities. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Coordinate data transmission to stakeholders outside of the CSO;• Manage CSO webinars and webpage content; • Redact information from documents such as those that will be posted on the CSO website; • Coordinate communications to external stakeholders; • Assist CSO staff in data collection projects and grant-management activities;• Collect and enter data in databases, spreadsheets and text documents as developed and assigned;• Ensure that a high level of support and customer service is provided to all stakeholders in a timely manner through management of the Charter Schools mailbox and phone communications;• Update CSO trackers and templates;• Assist with the management of the consultant process;• Assist with notification letter processes, and preparation of Board of Regents items; and• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a contingent permanent appointment. For 55b/c appointment, candidates must possess the minimum qualifications, a current 55b/c eligibility letter and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Verification of degree and/or transcripts will be required for all candidates at the time of interview. This position may be filled as a traineeship. The starting salaries for this position are outlined below. For current New York State employees, salary is based on the candidate’s salary at the time of hire.
