Position Summary:
Safely set up, operate and performs electrical discharge machine (EDM) operations.
Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision and following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following duties:
Set-up, operate and perform a variety of EDM operations.
Must be able to flow test to verify EDM part quality
Conduct test audits.
Perform routine maintenance of equipment and tooling as required and directed.
Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.
Make adjustments, within procedural limits, to fine-tune the process in order to achieve conformance standards.
Assist and/or instruct others in daily activities as needed.
Maintain appropriate knowledge and ability levels to efficiently perform all assigned work and utilize this knowledge base to become proficient on new/unfamiliar assignments.
Maintain a satisfactory level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirement.
Obtain first article inspection on sample hardware before continuing with production lot.
Maintain work area and equipment in organized, clean, and foreign object damage (FOD)-free manner.
Ability to discover/detect defects as well as analyze and take corrective action.
Perform set-up and maintain operation to assure repeatability.
Will assist in training other EDM operators as necessary.
Operate the equipment in a safe manner.
Use gages and other tools of the area, comparator charts and test equipment to ascertain the correctness of processed parts.
Changes electrodes or redresses electrodes as required by the conformance standards.
Routinely assist operation leader with workflow schedules, machine maintenance and tool availability.
Perform any other responsibilities as required and/or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-4 years of EDM operating experiences.
Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, procedures, and drawings.
Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member.
Must possess good manual dexterity, reliable judgment, and possess a willingness to learn.
