Child Care of the Berkshires is anEqual Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer, with a longstandingcommitment to increasing the diversity of the employee community.PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The ParentChild+ Program at Child Care of theBerkshires is a home visiting program which demonstrates to parents oftwo- and three-year old children pre-reading skills and languagedevelopment skills, through home visits and gifts of books and toys.Early Learning Specialists also provide developmentally appropriateactivities to build the parent-child bond and help the child learnthrough play, and connect families with community supports. We areseeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Early Learning Specialist who willbe responsible for an assigned caseload of 4 or more families with youngchildren, ages approximately 18 months through 4 years old. S/he willpromote early literacy in the families\' homes by modeling andencouraging nurturing conversation. S/he will plan activities usingbooks and toys as the curriculum. S/he will travel to families homes toprovide the program. S/he will document all home visits.
