job summary:
A Drafter/Mechanical Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Fairport, NY area. This role seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with CAD proficiency to support continuous improvement in manufacturing, troubleshoot equipment issues, and contribute to cost reduction projects.

responsibilities:
Support continuous improvement activities, new product/process introductions, and cost reduction projects.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for process and equipment issues.
Create accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits.
Seek clarification and understanding from engineers and project managers.
Offer mechanical expertise on projects involving cost reduction and process optimization.
Identify chronic issues and provide long-term corrective actions.
Actively engage in plant safety initiatives and projects.
Skills:
Solid 2D/3D modeling experience with Creo Parametric, Autodesk Inventor, or similar.
Translate engineering solutions to process and/or equipment designs.
Effective multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Provide high-level hands-on equipment troubleshooting.
Use scientific method and engineering first principles to solve problems.
Work well in a team environment and be results-oriented.
