Overview:PRINCIPAL DUTIESUnder the supervision of the Purchasing/Warehouse supervisor perform the following listed duties:Receive and sign for deliveries to Central Receiving.Perform the receiving and issuing function for all items (inventory and non-inventory)Stock products, maintain shelvesFill requisitions from web based Purchasing SystemAssist in loading and unloading district delivery trucksDrive trucks or other vehicles assigned for pickup and delivery of equipment, mail, and supplies to and from Purchasing and various locationsProper use of Warehouse fork truck and other specialized equipment.Must follow CRCSD safety procedures.Must follow district cash management procedures.Sort mail, distribute small packages, equipment and other supplies to all district locationsResponsible for daily preventative maintenance check and cleanliness of assigned vehicleAssist in general housekeeping of entire work areas.Assist in taking inventories of the warehouse stock items and other assigned areas.Other duties as assigned CLASSIFICATIONCategory "D" of the salary schedule for Maintenance & Grounds Employees.EMPLOYMENT DATE:TBD
Qualification: PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLSRecent truck driving experience desired -Resume required.Must have a current Class B Commercial Drivers License with air brake endorsement or currently hold a CDL learners permit and be able to obtain a CDL Class B with airbrakes endorsement within three (3) weeks of appointment.Possess a driving record satisfactory to the District and the District's insurance carrierMust pass pre-employment commercial drivers license drug screenKnowledge of computers and experience on PC's requiredAbove average mathematics ability preferredLegible handwritingAbility to work well with others and participate in team decision makingMust be able to pass the Physical Capacity Profile tests.Must be able to lift 80 pounds on a regular basis and heavier weights when neededExperience in warehousing desired REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, colleagues, community members, staff and students. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, squat, stoop, kneel, reach above the head, and push/pull or lift/move heavy objects. The employee will consistently push, pull, lift, and carry heavy objects or equipment. The following word pictures are a sample of work demands but not all-inclusive of the day in, day out physicality required: Be able to climb up and down a ladder wearing a tool belt with approximately 10 lbs of weight; shoveling with 30lb push; push/pull 40lbs effort each hand; bucket lift and pour 50lbs; office desk lift (one end) 70lbs; transfer 50lb ground to 41”; lift from 37” to 67” shelf 30lbs; carry 80lbs for 20 feet; push/pull effort 25 feet with 80lbs. This includes but is not limited to transporting chair racks, moving pianos, acoustical shells, kilns, surplus equipment, etc. to district or privately owned facilities. There is constant movement of products and items using ramps and truck lifts. The job may require exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally. WORKING ENVIROMENTThe work environment is in and around vehicles a large percentage of time and the employee may work in areas of a building or operate equipment where hearing protection is recommended. The employee will move, stand, squat on an assortment of surfaces including tile, wood, terrazzo, and concrete. The employee will work inside at times but generally will be required to work outside during hot or cold weather, rain snow, sleet and icy conditions performing their duties. The employee will stand or move on surfaces that are damp.
