Connexus Energy has the perfect internship for you! The Distribution Design Intern will assist with a wide range of work including assist the Distribution Designers in the planning, designing, and staking of overhead and underground distribution lines, determine location of and obtain right-of-way permits for the construction of overhead and underground distribution lines, and much more. The internship is a temporary position requiring full-time hours during the summer of 2024. This temporary position is not eligible for benefits or relocation at this time.

Key Responsibilities and Results
Assist in the design of Connexus Energy’s distribution system by providing technical support and administrative support to the Design Department.
Design and coordinate New Services & Member Service Requests to resolve customer issues or requests
Identify, design, and coordinate hazardous conditions, foreign attachment violations, and the corrective action in order to ensure the safety to Connexus employees and the general public.
Operate computer software applications to aid in preparing construction Work Orders.
Prepare design documents that consist of material lists, sketches, work status, mapping, and cost estimates. Maintain job notes and proper job status in the work order management system to allow communication with internal and external customers.
Assist Distribution Designers in design, measuring routes, flagging routes, and staking of system improvements, road construction, and other types of projects.
Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Talents
High school diploma or equivalent
Enrolled in and pursuing a 4-year degree in construction, engineering, surveying, GIS, or related field
Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel)
Ability to read and create technical diagrams and schematics
Strong Communication Skills

Ability to research easement documentation records
Ability to read and write land descriptions
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Ability to read maps
