Job Description:
This position is for a Test Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space and avionics hardware. This is in support of a weekend 2nd shift Thursday thru Sunday.
Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system and/or space vehicle level. Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is a must. Prior experience with RF and/or digital avionics technology is a must. Candidate may support manual testing of hardware. We value candidates with a high level of professionalism and technical ability. Supporting activities will include:
Installation of test articles into test fixturing.
Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs.
Maintenance and calibration of test sets and equipment.
Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
Essential Functions:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or schematics to perform work duties.
Work under direct supervision using a prescribed set of processes and procedures.
Work directly with engineers optimizing assembly processes and procedures.
Lean, continuous improvement mindset.
Be a team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and 6+ years relevant professional experience required, OR, Associates degree and 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge of the operation of RF and/or digital test equipment including Network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs and power supplies.
Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and demating high density and RF connections.
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office).
Experience interpreting drawings and schematics.
Willing to travel 10% of the time.
Willing to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with National Instrument software including LabVIEW and TestStand
Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing.
