Ferguson is currently seeking a Lead Building Engineer to join our Distribution Center team in Lebanon, TN, starting as early as May 2024!
Position Details
Our Lead Building Engineer will be responsible for executing the planned maintenance and reactive repairs of critical building systems, such as: fire systems, power systems, building automation, HVAC, plumbing, and utilities. This role will work alongside other facility maintenance professionals to ensure peak performance of the facility and all equipment supporting supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Perform and manage the planned maintenance and repairs of the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Operate, monitor and perform regular inspections of onsite backup power systems. Respond to power outages promptly; troubleshoot and remedy any problems quickly to restore Supply Chain operations within the facility.
Provide technical expertise and understanding of building fire and life safety systems. Ensure code-required inspections are fully completed and maintain records of system performance, inspections, tests, and maintenance activities in Service Channel platform.
Operate, maintain, and monitor automated and computer-controlled equipment including HVAC, VAV air systems (AHU or package unit supplied), HVLS units, VRF systems.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, contractors, engineers, and Ferguson associates. Inspect completed work for conformance to quality standards.
Respond to requests and work orders ensuring timely completion and satisfaction.
Visually inspect building routinely to proactively maintain equipment and appearance. Troubleshoot deficiencies and failures and identify next steps that ensure proper function and aesthetic.
Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain strict attention to detail when working.
Exhibit vital knowledge in all applicable code requirements and follow compliance by use of standard operation procedures and protocols. This includes all BOCA, NFPA, EPA, OSHA, State and local regulatory reporting agencies for equipment, utilities, and facilities.
Respond to, assess, and resolve after-hours emergency situations while keeping management informed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of technical school education or a 3+ years of related experience.
Minimum of 3 years in the hands-on operation and maintenance of life safety and backup power systems, fire pumps, HVAC systems, commercial plumbing, electrical and pneumatic controls, and building management systems.
Working knowledge of computer programs such as Trane SC/ES-Ensemble and Microsoft Office 365 required.
Ability to lift light objects constantly; 10-pound objects frequently; 30 - 40 pound objects occasionally.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, building layouts, equipment specifications, schematics and system drawings.
Experience with material handling and packaging equipment to include AutoStore, conveyance, boxing, and wrapping equipment preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail and quality of work required. Customer service focused with a high level of interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
