Director -- Specialty Therapeutics and Related. SAI-Med Partners LLC. Multiple positions, based at Company HQ in Exeter Twp, Pennsylvania (Reading area) or can be home based in the continental U.S. Approx. 30% travel required, primarily to attend industry conferences and client site presentations. Combining advanced life sciences and biopharma scientific knowledge, knowledge of consulting and primary competitive and market intelligence methodologies, tools and techniques, and knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries as related to specialty therapeutics and related segments, this position will take a leadership role within our specialty therapeutics and related (STAR) practice. Principal activities and accountabilities will include: (1) Actively monitor and benchmark the specialty therapeutics and related market segments; (2) Analyze changes impacting the industry as a whole as well as specific subsectors and market participants; (3) Organize practice resources to efficiently deliver ongoing projects; (4) Develop robust competitive intelligence plans, aligned to Key Intelligence Topics (KITs) and Key Intelligence Questions (KIQs), to monitor the competitive environment and emerging scientific data so as to inform and advise clients on clinical, regulatory and commercial strategies and opportunities; (5) Provide enterprise leadership and ensure coordination among the various teams/stakeholders across the organization, which included ensuring that industry, market and scientific developments in the specialty therapeutics and related segments are effectively communicated across the organization and to specific stakeholder groups through reports, presentations and teleconferences; (6) Serve as liaison between project managers and clients regarding project deliverables, performance feedback and related project issues; (7) Provide weekly updates to Head of Operations on resource planning and project assignments for all STAR business unit Consultants and Project Managers; (8) Monitor and update key operational metrics affecting the business unit, including conference planning and project expenses; and (9) Business development, including creation of practice specific capabilities, presentations for meetings with prospective clients, identification of key targets to drive new business opportunities, and preparation and submission of proposals in the STAR segments.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacology, molecular medicine or related life science field, and a Master's degree in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacology, health systems management, healthcare analytics, pharmaceutical and healthcare business, healthcare economics, healthcare management, or related life science or quantitatively focused healthcare discipline. Must also have three years of experience as a business intelligence and/or product development consultant or analyst. The required experience must have included at least two years during which the job duties included: (1) Conducting in-depth market, industry and competitive research and analysis, preparation and delivery of briefings and presentations, and development of client specific solutions in the specialty therapeutics or a related segment, either within a pharmaceutical and/or a biotechnology company, or as a consultant working with client companies in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industries; and (2) Analysis and interpretation of technical data; designing, structuring, and delivering reports and presentations incorporating qualitative and quantitative analyses of company-specific or product-specific solutions; and action items necessary to implement solutions.
