The Department of Law (DOL) is seeking an experienced Grants professional to join the new Grants and Partnerships unit in the Division of Community Engagement (DCE). In this role, you will lead Public Health granting efforts and partner with communities across Colorado to identify and provide funding for critical initiatives. As the leader of the Public Health Grants team, you will work closely with the Director of Grants & Partnerships to create and streamline grantmaking processes, making a meaningful impact for Coloradans through DOL granting. This position is perfect for an experienced granting professional with a passion for public service and public health issues in Colorado.
The DOL is currently offering a sign-on bonus for new Grants Specialist hires of $1,500.
Sign-On bonuses will be paid based on the following timeline:
$750.00 – Time of hire
$750.00 – Time of certification (12 months after hire)
Eligible only to hires new to the Colorado State Personnel System

This position is open only to residents of Colorado.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Public Health Grant Manager works in collaboration with the Director of Grants and Partnerships to manage grant fund disbursement for DCE grants and contracts. In addition to developing grant agreements, this position ensures all grantees are following any required processes, meeting projected goals or deliverables, adhering to the intent of the DOL granting program, and complying with specific contract requirements. This position leads and conducts audits of grant expenditures as needed, including inventory of equipment purchased and quality of services provided pursuant to the grants.
The Public Health Grant Manager maintains ownership and oversight of all Public Health-related grants and contracts from beginning to end of the funding cycle and assists on an as-needed basis with other categories of DOL grants. This position manages and improves the awarding process, reviews new proposals, modification requests and amendments, facilitates the agreement and amendment creation process, creates and maintains working relationships with partners, and monitors progress to ensure compliance.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community partners to plan and execute collaborative program efforts on a range of topics, as assigned by the Director of Grants and Partnerships and consistent with DOL priorities. This position is responsible for coordinating working groups and task forces to launch and coordinate statewide partnerships and programs for Public Health-related grants.
Salary note : Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
This recruitment may be used to fill multiple Grant Specialist positions in the DOL.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Granting professional with a passion for Public Health initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.
Seven years of professional grant administration experience, including as the grant recipient organization or granting organization.
OR
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the assignment AND three (3) years of professional experience in g rant administration, including as the grant recipient organization or granting organization.
OR
A master's or doctoral degree in business administration, public administration, non-profit management or a field of study directly related to the assignment AND two (2) years of professional experience in g rant administration, including as the grant recipient organization or granting organization.
Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, if you possess any of the following specifically include the details on your application, as this information will be used to assess your qualifications and may be used to determine a top group of applicants.
Experience working with public health initiatives
Experience with State of Colorado grant administration
Experience overseeing granting programs for public health initiatives
Experience supervising employees, preferably in a granting or public health environment
Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to maintain data integrity and reporting
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Experience developing program evaluation processes, such as developing measures for reporting on program impact/ effectiveness

This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule. Position will be required to be in the office a minimum of three days per week, but may be eligible for more flexible arrangements after a successful training period.
