Director, Procurement Business Analytics & Insights is responsible for shaping and driving the end-to-end data, advanced analytics and actionable insights' strategy for the function. She/he will work closely with Global Services, J&J Technology (JJT), Supply Chain, Digital & Data Science, Finance and HR, as well as with leading external data services providers, in the design and development of world-class, end-to-end analytics and data sciences capabilities that will help create a leap in value for our business segments, corporate functions, partners and employees.
This leader will partner with Procurement business leaders to identify real world use cases, translate the use cases into research, data and analytics scenarios, and partner with data scientists, data engineers and visualization experts to model, simulate and communicate various outcomes and business implications. She/he will be responsible for shaping and leading critical parts of our data strategy including supplier master data, spend transactional data, external and market intelligence data and the associated processes such as data management and governance, data quality, integration, modeling, visualization and consumption.
This leader will drive the evolution of the analytics capability stack for the function to accelerate speed to insights and to deliver a delightful, frictionless data consumption experience across key personas, inclusive of External Suppliers and Internal Stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape and drive the development of a best-in-class data management, governance, quality, data consumption and visualization set of capabilities that covers all of Procurement internal (supplier master and spend) and external data (risks, sustainability, diversity, etc.) domains
Lead the prioritization of data, advanced analytics and actionable insights' portfolio, partnering closely with JJT, GS, Digital & Data Science and Supply Chain to leverage enterprise frameworks and digital stacks in the design and delivery of novel analytics & insights capabilities and solutions for the function
Drive the evolution of the digital stack for the function to accelerate speed to insights and to deliver a delightful, frictionless digital consumption experience across key personas, inclusive of our external suppliers and internal stakeholders
Partner directly with business leaders across categories to identify opportunities and use cases to apply sophisticated analytics, data sciences and evidence-based methods to business needs
Translate use cases into research, data and analytics scenarios and partner with data scientists, academia, external partners, data engineers and visualization experts to model, simulate and communicate various outcomes and business implications (cost reduction, service level improvement, risk sensing & mitigation, efficiency improvement, etc.), inclusive of growth and societal impact
Act as a champion and thought leader within Procurement for data, advanced analytics, actionable insights and data sciences capabilities for cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with partner functions’ data/digital strategies
Design, track, and assess Procurement delivery of analytics and data sciences against long- and short-range goals and carry out regular reviews of the progress with internal Analytics team, as well as key partners and leadership

Build and maintain trusting relationships throughout Procurement and partner functions

Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Statistics, Operations Research, FinanceExperience and Skills:
Required:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Consistent record in driving and delivering transformative data and analytics strategies at the functional or enterprise level
Experience in applying sophisticated analytics and data sciences capabilities to sophisticated business challenges and opportunities
Deep understanding/experience across various data facets/processes, including data creation and acquisition, data management, data governance, data quality, data integration, data visualization and sophisticated data/statistical modeling
Advocate for evidence-based decision making to improve business outcomes
Excellent discernment and ability to derive novel insights from market conditions, industry, and key business performance drivers
Ability to drive creativity and innovation, focusing on the highest potential, while crafting newness and connecting information in new ways to uncover the unexpected
Demonstrated experience in leading a data science and analytics portfolio and driving value realization
Strategic problem solver with an eye for business and the ability to translate and synthesize sophisticated information into clear insights and recommendations for senior executives
Outstanding collaborator management experience, superior influencing and collaborating skills
Thoughtful leader with an analytics/data sciences mindset, agile and product management attitude; able to bring the team analytical skills to advance and deliver on key initiatives and business problems
Excellent presentation skills: can speak confidently across various forums to broad and diverse audiences
Proven track record in attracting, developing talent and demonstrated team building skills

Other:
The salary for this position is anticipated to be between $140,000 and $215,000
This position may require up to 15% of domestic and international travel
