Job Description
An employer in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Director Regulatory Compliance. This person will be joining a team within a small to mid-sized company, that is in the process of rebuilding the leadership and overall culture of the company. The Director of Regulatory Compliance will be reporting directly to the COO, and will have two Regulatory Compliance associate direct reports. This individual will be overseeing the regulatory compliance for their customers' formulas and products being sold in third party retail companies, and reviewing what is being claimed on customer documentation and packaging. This person should also be comfortable and experienced with products sold globally, and regulations for products sold in Canada and the UK. The Director will need to have a strong background and understanding of the cosmetics and beauty industry laws and regulations, as well as the new upcoming MOCRA rules. The Director will be responsible for research, documentation, compliance reviews, cross-communication and collaboration with in-house legal counsel, as well as direct communication with clients. The company has a full-time in-office culture located in Ventura county, and this role is a full-time, direct-hire position.
Skills and Requirements
-7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance
-3+ years of experience in cosmetics and beauty industry
-2+ years in elevated leadership level role, minimum of Manager level experience
-Experience with regulatory compliance for formulas, products, and packaging sold in the US, Canada, and the UK
-Familiarity with upcoming MOCRA rules
-Experience with research, documentation and compliance reviews for raw materials, formulas, and ingredients
-Strong written and verbal communication, experience working cross-functionally with internal teams, as well as externally with client communication and meetings
-Bachelors degree in Business Law, or related field -Bilingual Spanish null
