Accountability ObjectiveThis position is responsible for Quality Assurance activities and processes forTriMarkCorporation to ensure customers expectations are met or exceeded. This includes oversight of the Quality department and associated processes, quality data analysis (COPQ), and reporting. This position is responsible for integration of Quality Management Systems, ISO9001/IATF16949 current Standards, Audits, Certification, Internal Audits, Customer Audits, Document Control and Intellect software platform.
This position is responsible for Quality functions to ensure the successful operation ofTriMark/New Hampton; for managing the activities and motivating the employees involved with producing TriMark's quality products; and for providing the leadership necessary to achieve the short-term and long-term corporate goals of profitability and growth of the company.

Nature and ScopeThis position reports to the VP of Global QA and Strategic Supplier Development as does the Director of Operations, Supplier Relationship Manager and Black Belt.
The Director of Quality supervises the following staff:
Quality Manager: (1)This position is responsible for management of Quality Assurance staff and quality processes forTriMarkIowa. The position must ensure a high level of quality is being achieved while maintaining the customer's quality requirements. These requirements must be met in a timely, cost-efficient manner.
QMS Assistant: (1) Responsible to perform control of documents, auditing activities, and maintain the QMS software in support of TriMarks Quality Management System.
The position is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and improvingTriMarks quality management system. The position leads the audit management process and ensures ongoing, successful ISO9001/IATF16949 certification. The position acts as Management Representative and is responsible to keepTriMarks Quality Manual up to date, while overseeing the Document Control process.
The position researches best practices and coordinates and directs use of new technology and systems to continually improve quality processes and practices.
This position reviews and understandsTriMarks customers quality requirements. The position also involves otherTriMarkpersonnel as necessary to ensure they understand and follow the customers quality requirements. The Director of Quality ensures TriMark products are made per specification and supports production in delivering quality products on time to the customer, with a sense of urgency.
The incumbent oversees quality related activities and tasks are performed and completed appropriately and in a timely manner. When necessary, the incumbent communicates with customers to ensure their questions/complaints are addressed quickly.
The position supports Product and Process Design and Development teams if quality-related questions arise while ensuring ISIRs and product measurements dont delay project schedules. The incumbent has oversight for APQP Quality-related activities.
The incumbent must develop extensive product knowledge ofTriMarks product line. The position must understand quality costs and how they can affect the "bottom line" and continually strive to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ). The position may make recommendations of process improvements, engineering changes, and product performance improvements.
Communication skills are extremely important to the position, both written, verbal, and oral. Strong servant leadership skills are required to engage and sustain high-performing teams. Successfully collaborating with several departments and positions within the company is an expectation of this position. This position will focus on fact-based, data-driven decision making and have extensive and applied experience with problem solving. The incumbent must have substantial experience in the application of core quality tools, extending well beyond being book smart. The Director of Quality must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and bring positive and high energy to the position, supporting a culture of excellence and leading by example.
A key component of this position is strategic planning for the future, while understanding the vision and mission of the company. This includes staying abreast of quality best practices, networking with professional organizations, and helping TriMark meet present and future challenges of the organization. The incumbent will propose quality initiatives that fill any gaps in meeting statutory/regulatory requirements, customer requirements, internal requirements, ISO/IATF requirements, etc. To support these requirements, the Director of Quality must be forward-thinking and work closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Sales, Director of Engineering, Director of Human Resources and Director of Finance/Systems.
