As a part of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod\'s (AFCC) senior leadershipteam, the Director of Programs is charged with leading, managing, andgrowing all of the foundation\'s programs. These programs include AFCCAccess, professional development for artists and individuals working forcultural organizations, and grants management. The ideal candidate has abackground in working within the arts with experience in education foradults. As part of a small team, the Director of Programs must beequally comfortable ideating on big-picture visionary work and hands-onimplementation. The Director of Programs will work closely with theExecutive Director and Director of Development to center andinstitutionalize community input through programs, and build andmaintain relationships with key groups of supporters to help grow thefinancial resources of the Foundation. QUALIFICATIONS: We\'re seeking acandidate with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning andpersonal development. Three-to-five years of senior level management inthe arts. Knowledge in at least one artistic discipline. PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES: Mentor junior staff and or interns. Work withExecutive Director and Communications Director to produce an ongoingpodcast series focused on the arts community. Assist in coordinating andmonitoring all aspects of outgoing grant administration and provideguidance to applicants, potential applicants, and grantees. Assist inregularly evaluating and reviewing program criteria, requirements, andprocesses to continue to improve grantmaking, program administration,and alignment with the AFCC\'s strategic goals. Produce regulareducational virtual and hybrid talks and workshops focused onprofessional development for working artists, arts leaders, andindividuals working for cultural organizations, collaborating with therest of the staff on overlapping themes and presenters. Lead CreativeExchange initiatives, including monthly meetups and a yearly conference.Determine topics, solicit speakers, and facilitate events while beingsupported by the AFCC Team. Programs are currently in-person throughoutCape Cod, usually mid-week and early evening. Drive efforts to refineand grow AFCC Access Program which seeks to connect and expose allchildren on Cape Cod to the beauty, power, and wonder of the arts. Aspart of AFCC Access oversight, will identify strategic communitypartners, including social service agencies, schools, and culturalorganizations, working to establish strong relationships with theseoutside agencies to support the evolution of the program in order toexpand its reach. Participate in the editorial process for ourtwice-a-year newsletter. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Experience as a practicing artist and/or broad knowledge of the arts.Ability to work closely with local artists, to listen closely, torecognize opportunity, to problem solve, and to build a sense of teamand shared purpose. Ability to translate planning objectives intotangible program steps. Excellent communication skills. A keen listenerand facilitator deeply committed to supporting colleagues and helping toenable their success. Excellent organizational and people skills. Asupportive and collaborative attitude. Experience in understanding andoverseeing program budgets and financial performance of subunits.Familiarity and comfortability with Constant Contact, social media,Wordpress, and similar technology is preferred.
