The Director of Pharmacy Ambulatory Infusion Services is responsible for developing, leading, and coordinating BIDMC-licensed satellite infusion services. This position oversees pharmacy ambulatory infusion services that provide and enhance safe and high quality patient care while promoting fiscal responsibility in the utilization of resources. The Director of Pharmacy Ambulatory Infusion Services ensures adherence to all state and federal regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy. This position is responsible for the oversight of multiple satellite infusion locations and reports directly to the Chief Pharmacy Officer.

Primary Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, coordinates and implements all activities related to BIDMC-licensed satellite infusion services. Ensures the delivery of efficient, optimal, and quality pharmacy services in the ambulatory infusion setting. Develops programs, goals and objectives consistent with those of the Department of Pharmacy’s overall strategic plans and initiatives.
Leads and supports managers in developing and improving services to create optimal performance levels. Develops an organizational plan for ambulatory infusion services consistent with the scope of services offered/provided by the pharmacy.
Develops and maintains pharmacy policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with state, federal and applicable regulatory agency standards, including but not limited to DPH, DEA, Board of Registration in Pharmacy, USP, and the Joint Commission.
Assures ambulatory infusion pharmacy-related continuous improvement in quality and patient safety. Remains current on developing trends in quality improvement and patient safety and coordinates with pharmacy leaders to implement best practices.
Develops operational and capital budgets and manages operating expenses and key indicators within the budget for BIDMC-licensed infusion services. Develops, implements, monitors, evaluates and integrates pharmacy services that contribute to the overall success and financial viability of the BIDMC’s pharmacy department and 340B program.
Participates in formulary management, review of medication use processes, and development and implementation of evidence-based treatment guidelines. Works with multi-disciplinary teams across BILH and BIDMC.
Has the authority to direct and support managers with functional area responsibilities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.

Fiscal Responsibility:
Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget in functional area or department.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in or PharmD required. Preferred Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.Required Qualifications:
License Massachusetts Pharmacist required., and Registration Massachusetts Pharmacist required.
5-8 years related work experience required and 3-5 years supervisory/management experience required.
